To live this vision, the organization contributes financial resources, as well as the time and talents of our staff, to the promotion of financial literacy for students grades kindergarten through 12. The Credit Union provides resources to Junior Achievement of Middle America, is a proud sponsor of the Blue Springs School of Economics and supports Exchange City through volunteer efforts. VolunteerismCommunityAmerica promotes the spirit of volunteerism by offering each full-time employee 12 hours of paid time annually to give to the 501(c)3 designated organization of their choice. Some area charities that have benefited from this policy include Della Lamb, Habitat for Humanity, Harvesters, Muscular Dystrophy Association and Junior Achievement. Credit Unions Working TogetherCommunityAmerica is a leader in the local credit union community in support of Children's Miracle Network through the Greater Kansas City Credit Unions for Kids Task Force. Together, area credit unions have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to help area children suffering with illness and disease. Dora Maxwell Award for Social ResponsibilityIn 2007, CommunityAmerica was named a state winner of the Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility by the Missouri Credit Union Association for the eighth consecutive year. The Credit Union was also awarded the National Dora Maxwell Award by the Credit Union National Association. Dora Maxwell Award honors credit unions for charitable works in their communities. The awards were won for the Credit Union's fundraising efforts for Junior Achievement of Middle America.
